Frequently Asked Questions
How do I create my own perfume?
At Noteistry, you explore different fragrance notes and choose the ones you like best. You then combine your selected notes to create a personal perfume that feels uniquely yours.
Do I need any perfume-making experience?
No. You don’t need any previous experience. The experience is designed for everyone, whether you’re a complete beginner or already passionate about perfume.
How many fragrance notes can I choose?
For your first perfume, we recommend starting with around five fragrance notes. This makes it easier to explore how different notes work together and create a well-balanced scent. As you become more familiar with the process and learn to recognise different scents, you can experiment with more notes and create more complex combinations.
Can I choose how strong I want my perfume to be?
Yes. You can adjust the fragrance oil concentration within the set limits, allowing you to make your perfume lighter or more intense.
Can I take my perfume home with me?
Yes. Once you’ve created your perfume, it will be filled into your own perfume bottle and finished with a personalised label, ready for you to take home.
Does my perfume need to mature before I use it?
We recommend allowing your perfume to mature for 1–2 weeks after blending. This gives the fragrance notes time to develop and blend together more harmoniously. You can smell and use your perfume straight away, but you may notice that the scent develops and becomes more balanced during the maturation period.
How long does it take to create a perfume?
It typically takes around 15–30 minutes to create your own perfume. But there’s no need to rush – take your time to smell, experiment and find the combination that feels just right for you.
Do I need to book in advance?
No. Noteistry is walk-in, so there’s no need to book in advance. Simply drop by and start creating.
Can I give the experience as a gift?
Yes. You can purchase a digital Noteistry gift card and give someone a personal fragrance experience as a gift.
